Whole-home water distribution

Hot. Cold. All in stainless.

Corrugated 316L stainless steel for every water line in the home. Hot, cold, heating, heat-pump and final connections. One material from plant room to tap.

The whole-home thesis

One material. Every water line.

Most homes are plumbed in three or four different pipe materials. Copper at the boiler, PEX in the bathrooms, push-fit at the appliance, braided rubber at the tap. Ridgeline replaces that whole stack with one corrugated 316L stainless steel system.

  • Stainless water path

Ridgeline tube gives a 316L stainless steel water-contact surface for the main pipework runs. The outer sleeve sits outside the water path. The same family of 316L stainless steel is used in food processing, brewing and pharmaceutical equipment, and the system is supported by product approvals and technical documentation.

  • Fewer fittings behind walls

Ridgeline supplied in coils. Many direction changes that need fittings in copper or PEX can be made by bending the tube itself. Long continuous runs from plant room to outlet zones, with the fittings concentrated where you can reach them.

  • One material, plant room to tap

Hot supply, cold supply, heating flow and return, ASHP primary pipework, final flexible connections at the appliance — every water line in the home, in one specification.

  • WRAS approved, KIWA Reg 4 certified

UK potable water suitability covered by both the WRAS Approval Certificate and KIWA UK Regulation 4 (KUKreg4 ATS 3) Certificate. Every certification a building control officer or specifier is likely to ask for.

How a whole-home system fits together

Three roles. One specification.

The Ridgeline tube + fitting + Flexis family handles every water-line role in the building, with consistent material, certification and installation logic.

  • Distribution

    Hot and cold supply runs

Tube R-15 and R-22 for branch runs to taps, bathrooms and appliances. R-28 and R-35 for risers and main distribution. Routed in long continuous coils through joists and voids, with the fitting count concentrated at branch points.

  • Heating

    Flow and return

Tube sized to the heating design — R-22 / R-28 typical for boiler-led systems, R-32 HP for ASHP primary. The same Ridgeline tube + fitting family handles both heating and potable water in one specification.

  • Final connections

    Flexis at the outlet

Ridgeline Flexis 316L stainless flexible connectors replace braided rubber at every tap, basin, cistern, washing machine, dishwasher and water heater — the same material logic, applied to the connection point most likely to fail.

One specification

Plant room to tap, in one stainless ecosystem.

Same tube. Same fittings. Same documentation. Hot, cold, heating, heat-pump and final connections, all in corrugated 316L stainless steel.

Two fitting routes

P1 or RidgeLock. Pick the route that matches the spec.

Both fitting families are WRAS approved, both are KIWA Reg 4 certified, both work with the same Ridgeline tube. The choice depends on pressure rating, tube size and whether the project standardises on Ridgeline-branded fittings or drops into existing EN 1254 compression bodies.

Suggested specification wording

Drop into your spec.

Whole-home hot and cold water distribution to use Ridgeline corrugated 316L stainless steel plumbing tube, UK-designed, with Ridgeline-approved fittings — P1 mechanical fittings or RidgeLock sealing-ring fittings as appropriate — in accordance with manufacturer data sheets, installation instructions, approval documents and project design requirements.

Final flexible connections to taps, appliances, water heaters and cisterns to use Ridgeline Flexis 316L stainless steel flexible connectors. All visible water-contact surfaces to be 316L stainless steel.
